I spoke to her on the phone today. She's fine, both mentally and physically.
She claims being on good terms with her late husband's family, especially with his son.
She was in a hurry to a lecture, and invited me to pay her a visit at her protected facility.
I'm very glad of the conversation with her.
This is all good news. I'm glad you made the contact.
ReplyDeleteDuta, though I haven't mentioned this before, I worry about you quite a bit, in your war zone. I pray for your safety, and your neighbors.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Boud for your prayers.
DeleteIt's not for my age to deal with shelters, rockets, alarms. I've done this in the past. Perhaps it was a mistake coming here. I just wish to survive. I 'm not looking for land and holy places.
She lives in a protected facility and was on her way to a lecture on improving memory skills. I smiled to myself at that. When one lives in a place with no worries about the house , the food, the health issues - one needs those lectures to activate the thoughts and mind.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad things are fine -- and that you checked in with her.
ReplyDeleteI felt lucky - catching two brds in one hand: speaking to her, and feeling she's fine.
DeleteI'm so glad you were able to connect! Continued prayers for you and for her too.
ReplyDeleteIt has been a very long time since my last conversation with her; so at first, she didn't recognize my voice, only when I told her my last name, it revived her memory.
DeleteThanks for the prayers, dear Mari.
I'm glad to hear she is well.
ReplyDeleteSandra sandracox.blogspot.com
She sounded great. Her voice was unaltered, and that said a lot to me.
DeleteThat's so sweet that you looked for her and found her. I'm sure she appreciated the call.
ReplyDeleteThe truth is I followed my dream She appeared one night in my dream, and that was a sign for me that I have to look for her. I'm glad I did.
DeleteGlad you were able to get in touch with her!
ReplyDeleteSo am I, Christine. Gladness is a good, warm feeling.
DeleteI feel the same as Boud. Praying for Israel.
ReplyDeleteGlad you found you friend and got in touch.
Thanks a lot Sandie, for your kind words and for your prayers.
DeleteLet him rest in peace.
ReplyDeleteYou mean her late husband. Oh, yes, let his soul rest in peace.
DeleteOh, that's wonderful. So glad you could talk with her. This is great to hear. All the best to the both of you. My prayers are with you and your country. Stay strong. Stay healthy.
ReplyDeleteWonderful, indeed. Thanks a lot for your good wishes, and for your prayers, Ellie.
DeleteThat's wonderful to hear! You too take good care of yourself!
ReplyDeleteThank you Angie. I will.
DeleteThat's nice that you will see each other again !
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure about that as there's rather a big distance between our locations, but we'll certainly keep in touch through phone.
DeleteOh that is such good news Duta. How wonderful that you reached out to her.
ReplyDeleteFirst I tried through the village number - no answer, and then I found her home number and got lucky.
DeleteI'm so happy this ended well and that she is still close to her husbands family. You're a dear for making the effort to get in touch with her. I hope you do go pay her a visit.
ReplyDeleteAs they say 'all's well that ends well'. It was definitely worth the effort.
DeleteGood news indeed!
ReplyDeleteThe best. It made me very happy to hear her and talk to her.
DeleteOh Duta! That's wonderful! Thank you so much for letting us know!
ReplyDeleteWell, it's the least I could do.
DeleteWhat a relief to know she's okay!
ReplyDeleteA big, big relief! Not only hat, but a feeling of happiness.
DeleteSuch great news, glad you decided to look her up and found her. She must have been happy too.
ReplyDeleteShe was rather surprised. We were not of the same age, not really friends , but neighbors. My room and the library were adjacent and we had good daily neighbourly relations.
DeleteDuta, I'm glad you found it.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Norma. Locating someone after a long time gives you a deep feeling of happiness.
DeleteYAY so glad you were able to chat with her. I hope you get to visit her soon. Janice
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to describe what I felt, when finally able to talk to her. It was sheer joy.
DeleteOh Duta that's fantastic I am so happy to hear that I hope you will have a great time with her.
ReplyDeleteIt seems she's got a full schedule there: lectures, games, walks...I might "interfere" with all that.
A friend is indeed a great asset. We should always cherish a good, true friend.
DeleteHugs and Blessings to you, Manuel!
How lovely to be back in touch. I'm sure you'll have lots to talk about when you finally meet up again.
ReplyDeleteAnd to think that only the good, old phone has made the connection. Neither of us is on FB or other platforms!
DeleteÉ sempre bom saber que as pessoas de quem gostamos estão bem e ativas.
ReplyDeleteAbraço de amizade.

Indeed, Juvenal. We wish no more than to know that the person we care about is all right.
DeleteIt’s wonderful to hear that you had a positive conversation with The Librarian and that she is doing well both mentally and physically. It's great to know she is in good spirits and maintaining positive relationships with her late husband's family.
ReplyDeleteHer invitation to visit her at her protected facility sounds like a meaningful opportunity. It’s clear she values your connection and wants to maintain it.
If you do decide to visit, it might be nice to bring something thoughtful or a small gesture to show your appreciation for her invitation. Enjoy your visit and the chance to catch up with her! www.melodyjacob.com
Lovely comment! Thanks Melody. I appreciate your kind words and advice.
DeleteYou should keep in contact. Even small gestures can make a difference. As someone else has said, do take care of yourself.
ReplyDeleteI am praying for the day Israel wins and people can finally return to some kind of civil society again.
all the best
liam
I'm usually a person of gestures, small but significant ones.
DeleteThanks for your praying, Liam.
Wonderful!!
ReplyDeleteWhat is a "protected facility"?
protected facility -- a nursing home for older people, senior citizens, or disabled people.
DeleteThanks for the comment, Sandi.
