Parcel Or Money

At the beginning of March, I ordered a small parcel from an american supplier. I got it on the 15th of June!!

A month after the order and confirmation, I checked with the local post office. I was told that the tracking number I had was invalid.

I emailed the supplier more than once, but no reply. That surprised me. I was not a new customer, and it had never happened to me before. I thought to myself, perhaps there was a new factor that took over the company, and for some reason wanted to discourage me from being their customer.

So, I turned to the credit card company through which I paid for the parcel. They gave the supplier 60 days to clarify the matter for them. I've got the parcel, they haven't got the clarification yet.

Checking the outer papers glued to the box, it seemed to me the parcel was already here but sent back as unclaimed. I saw the 'invalid' number too; probably belonging to UPS carrier.

Something definitely  went wrong with the shipping. I hope the credit card company will enlighten me on the matter when she gets the clarification.  It seems to me that both the supplier and our post office have failed in assuring smooth and on- time delivery of the parcel.

  1. I hope you can find out what happened with it so that it won't happen again if you decide to place another order with this company. Frustrating trying to sort it all out! Do let us know if you do find out anything more regarding it!

    1. I do hope to find out what happened, but I'm not sure about that. You know, they all and everywhere are reluctant to provide you with details, for fear of being sued.
Anyway, I doubt it I'll place another order with this company.

  2. Things like this are so very frustrating! It instantly takes me (back) to a phrase I never liked or used but now find it to be true - - "if it ain't one thing, it's another"! I hope this gets settled satisfactorily SOON!

Wishing you well, my friend! Have a great weekend!

  3. Isn't it crazy what happens to our packages sometimes?

  4. This sort of thing causes me emotional distress. I feel helpless and unable to control what looks like just sending or receiving a small package.

  5. I'm glad it got there. I hope it was OK. Yes, everything seems to be strange these days when ordering something or the post office just isn't what it used to be. I guess they can blame it on the gas prices.

What a sweet picture of you. Your hair is getting longer ❤️

Wishing you a good weekend. Thanks for your comments.

    1. I'm glad too. Things seem to get worse everywhere, in all walks of life.
Thanks for the compliment. I can shorten my hair, but it also gets whiter and at present, I'm not coloring it. Just apply, sometimes henna powder to strengthen it.

    2. Good to know about the Henna Powder. I hope you are finding more sweet fruit and places you feel comfortable to go. Thanks for your posts and thank you for your comments too.

    3. I was fond of Henna Colora, american brand, but they don't import it any longer. The natural henna powder , sold at the market, usually colors hair in red shades, and I don't like it.

  7. Well at last it turned up, it's a nuisance when things go wrong with parcels, sometimes we have to wait what seems forever.

  8. It wasn't that long ago that we didn't pay for anything without examining it FIRST and agreeing on a price. Nowadays it has all changed because so much is bought by ordering and paying, often to an overseas outlet, BEFORE having the item in hand. Will this new method of doing business continue to grow?

By the way, do you always insure an item coming by post?

    1. I don't buy often, and I don"t buy expensive - up to 75$, sum which is extempt from taxes. After all, buying online is a bit like gambling.

  10. Things from out of the country take a long time to get to me. I've ordered a few things from Wish and AliExpress and both times they took 2-3 months.

    1. Aliexpress is very popular in my country; so far, I 've bought nothing from them.
As for my parcel, I think that even with standard shipping, it should have been delivered within two weeks. Months - that's not acceptable.

    1. Right. In my defense, I'll say that I would rarely order from abroad something that can be bought locally, even if the price is tempting. After all, buying online has its shortcomings.

  13. Ordering online can be frustrating. Our postal system in Canada is dreadfully slow, but parcels do eventually arrive.

    1. I'll have to learn more about the postal system here and abroad. Usually, I pay for standard shipping. Sometimes, things might get mixed up with the more expensive shipping by carriers such as UPS, DHL, FEDEX, and the customer is unaware of this.

  14. Praise God! Glad you got your package Duta! I understand the frustration, and especially if you are eagerly awaiting a package. Also depending on what is in it, sometimes there is a need that is hard to wait out the delay.

Its also amazing that we are able to order things from all over the world. So much to give thanks for !! And thankfully, they do generally arrive without too much of a delay! Isn`t that amazing! B`ezrat Hashem. HalleluYah!! Love and blessings to you. Hope you are enjoying whatever it was in the package, and even so that you won`t be discouraged to place the next order!!

PS its a nice picture of you and the green everywhere!!

  18. Oh yes, I've had these weird things happen to me. I think some of the problems with companies is COVID. Lack of staffing or overwork or whatever. I've had two orders from Amazon that came to me that was wrong or something I never ordered.

    1. You may be right about Covid. The virus has disrupted our life on all levels. And it's not over yet. Judging by the recent numbers of the infected , we are in big trouble.

  20. If it makes you feel any better, our system here isn't much better. Or France, for that matter. I've had things returned to me that when I checked the address with the resident (with a photo to make sure it was legible) it was absolutely correct. And things that get lost in the mail. But it's terribly frustrating, isn't it?

  24. Yes, Manuel, I 've got the package. I needed it ,so I had to be patient like Job.
I agree with you, it's best to buy locally, but sometimes the item you badly want is not available, and you have to order it from abroad.

As for bullfighting, I totally understand - it's part of the history and culture of your country.

  26. Not surprising. Our deliveries have been terrible of late. We no longer have a local post office...they closed it. Mail get lost all the time. We no longer have a regular mail person. We were told the other day by a fill in, that we probably won't get deliveries daily anymore, as there's no one to make the deliveries. People will just be filing in. I've heard this from a number of people who live in different areas, so that could be your problem as well. Lots of luck!

  27. Doesn't sound good. The postal agency near to my home works only partial time as the agent is unwell.
I believe the deterioration in the postal service has started with the email becoming present in almost every home. So,it's as if they actually say don't bother me, use your email.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Unfortunately, that's correct. Failing shipping and delivery are common to postal services almost everywhere.

  30. As shown from the previous comments, if something will get lost in shipping, it's not uncommon no matter what country you are living in. While I have ordered online and thankfully have not had any package go astray, if I can buy the same item in a store near me, I will do that even if there is (only) a slight difference in price. Last week I bought a new hairdryer locally for the same price it would have cost to order it from Amazon and no waiting for delivery!

    1. Enjoy your new hairdryer! I'm definitely for buying locally, but the items in my parcel are of a specific quality which so far, is not available locally.
