I can't say I'm totally surprised of what's going on in the world right now: climate change and the corona virus.

I've mentioned before that I believe in God ( the Superpower) and his  Creation of the world.
I think we humans have constantly violated the order and rules of this creation by wars, colonialism, slavery, migration, globality - and now, we're probably going to pay for it.

I remember my visit to South Africa.   Apartheid was already in its last stages,  and what really puzzled me was the mere presence of the white, european people there. I kept asking myself why are they here? this continent was given by God to the black people, and it belongs to them. The europeans should be here only as tourists not as settlers.  Europe is their God- given continent for.better or for worse.

Climate Change and the Corona Virus clearly indicate that God is fed up with us and is considering a Reset whatever that may mean.

I guess that even if we survive the corona, we might face a totally different reality with scarcity of food, no pensions, violence reaching its highest,  at least for a while.

It is at times like this, that one learns the true meaning of terms constantly misused and misunderstood by us such as: nation. territory, race, sustainability, superpower, climate, and many others.

  1. I cannot believe that an angry God is causing COVID-19. That just doesn't seem logical.

We are going to get through this if everyone stands together, listens to the experts, follows directions.

    1. That's OK. You don't have to. Everyone is entitled to an opinion.
However, if tou're looking for the 'logical' perhaps you should live in a philosophy class, not in the everyday reality.

  2. I'm praying for you, Duta. These are bizarre times. I grew up in Evangelical Christianity and have long had this deep internal awareness of difficult days just ahead in the End Times. I have at times resented having that. I mean, what a thing, always thinking that one day this world will pass away. Though it made me prepare spiritually I would say. I agree with the commenter above who asks how a loving God could send a disease. Someone said that on my blog too. I do not know either. But this morning I thought of this verse from the last book of the Bible:

    Revelations 15:1-2

I saw in heaven another great and marvelous sign: seven angels with the seven last plagues—last, because with them God’s wrath is completed. And I saw what looked like a sea of glass glowing with fire and, standing beside the sea, those who had been victorious over the beast and its image and over the number of its name.

This is continued in Revelation chapters 15-16 of the Bible.

You know what I hope? I hope all of this blows over and anyone who reads this comment can come over to my blog and say, "See, see! It wasn't the End Times!" I will publish every comment, unless it is obscene. Ha ha

But any day could be anyone's end time. Jesus is real. Call on Him. He will hear you. Why would a loving God do this? Ask Him that... I don't know... and then tell us. Thanks.

    1. I'm glad that a religious person (you, Sandi)and a non-religious one (the previous commenter, Jenn) have the same opinion - namely, it's not God.

Who, then is it? Nature, Man? but aren't nature and man created by God?

    2. I think it could be from God, but it could also be an illness like all the other illnesses in our imperfect world. God created our world perfect. Adam and Eve sinned and the world changed. Man did not die before then. Everything changed.

  3. A virus is an infectious agent that replicates inside living cells. This is a perfectly natural process, it routinely happens, and serious pandemics have occurred throughout history when there is a confluence of the right conditions. It has nothing to do with metaphysical concepts, benign, angry or otherwise.

    1. Neat definition of a virus, and a rather optimistic description of its infective activity: it's routine, it has nothing to do with certain concepts.

Well, I believe God works inside each of us. A virus is an organism (living or not)which like any other organism is created by God.

    2. Then it must be a really malevolent, wicked , evil god that created this one. Perhaps he/she also creates MS, Cancer, ALS, Sickle cell anemia, necrotizing fasciitis and other delightful scourges.

    3. God is the Creator, not the activator.
If we pray to Him asking for guidance, protection, mercy He's with us and good to us.

Like man, the virus might violate the rules and has to be given a 'wake up' call, and if this doesn't help - destruction will follow.

  4. It is our time for a challenge. We are of a generation where we've never been asked to sacrifice so deeply as a collective. The last time I can think of the world being on a page was WWII. (Well, they were on different pages but you know what I mean.) We, and especially our youth, have never had to sacrifice something personal -- their space, their freedom -- for the greater good. It's time we all had a taste of this. I just wish people didn't have to die in the process.

    1. I believe you're right.
Each generation is asked to sacrifice.
My mother was a Holocaust survivor who gave away her wedding ring for a pile of potato peels. She suffered violence and hunger. She burried a child and a younger sister in a mass grave.

I'm not sure what awaits me, here in Israel. Several times, I had to run for shelter because of rockets, and now this ..corona thing which is very scary.(so far we've got about 600 cses).

  5. I believe the universe is talking to us. We have mistreated the earth. Civility seems to be a thing of the past, and living in fear is rampant. We must take it a day at a time and help one another. Wishing you the best.

    1. Indeed. We should listen to the universe, and try to mend things, gradually but steadily. We're now in a scary situation. May God help us!
All the Best to you too.

  6. This novel corona is a "new creation", the new strain of virus that never exist before.
And we are learning loads of lessons from this disaster.
    Stay safe and healthy, Duta.

  8. Hi Duta, As you well know, God is a God of Life. I think we need to say His name 3 to 100 times for every time the name of the virus is said once!! So I will say the name that I know to be life three times ---YESHUA, YESHUA, YESHUA, !!!! He is LIFE!! I believe that is our responsibility , to declare LIFE over this world in His name, and to repent of and take responsibility for our sins and the sins of our nations. I think you agree so really this is to agree with you about our responsibility, and just to emphasize the importance of declaring and stating words of LIFE. He says throughout the TORAH to "choose Life!!" ... Praise God and God bless you dear Duta!!!! Much Love!!

    1. I'm impressed by your dedication to Jeshua, dear Shayndel.
Yes, we should take responsibility for our sins and pray for Life.
      Shabbath Shalom!

  9. I believe we live in a fallen world since the sin of Adam and Eve. I believe God is completely in control of what is going on and nothing catches him by surprise. I believe there is a purpose and a plan of his for what is going on these days like there was a purpose and a plan for everything else that has occurred in this fallen world since it became broken. I believe there will be a day when Jesus returns and restores the world to what it should have been before the fall and makes a new heaven and a new earth as talked about in Revelation. I have to completely trust in Him that he knows what He is doing and that he is control. Our pastor talked about this the other day in church saying God is in control, He knows, He loves us. Whatever the outcome it will fulfill whatever God's plan and purpose is. It could be a time where masses of people come to know Him and their eternity will be secure. I don't know. All I know is God is sovereign and I am not and whatever he chooses to do I will trust in Him. He has never let me down, even in the hardest of times and the worse situations, and I know he won't now. Even if that results in my death because then I will be going to my eternal home. And what is better than that?? Eternity with Jesus :) For me; there is nothing better!

Be safe! Israel and Jerusalem are often in hubby's and my prayers. We are commanded in the Old Testament to pray for the peace of Jerusalem :)

    1. "a fallen world"- so true!
"God is in control", "God is sovereign" - true again. It's us, people, that are confused, scared, panicky. We put our Trust in God.

Thanks, Betty, for your beautiful and sensible words.

  10. So far, we've got over 700 cases, but thank God, no deaths. There are two people in grave condition and some ten people in mild condition.
The situation in your country is devastating. May God help, and soon!
    Take care!

  11. THe USA and Canada belonged to the "Indians" and Australia to the Aborigenes, the whites also stole their land. What's happening now is crazy instead of fighting the virus together with the same rules, everybody does what he wants. We are confined, but my son living in Amsterdam 230 km from here is not only restaurants and cafés are closed but the famous coffee shops where you can smoke your canabis are open !

    ReplyDelete

    1. That's correct, and it's called colonialism.
Maybe the canabis is for medical reasons, and therefore those coffe shops are open.

Let's hope people respect restrictions everywhere, so that spread of the virus gets reduced and stopped soon.

    1. Perhaps, if we pray to God and ask forgiveness,we'll be spared the punishment, "the paying for it". I can't see any other way out.

  15. I also believe in God but do not agree that climate change and now this corona virus are deliberate messdages from Him. What I do think is that this and many of the world's issues are completely man made. That said, I think that through God's help there will be a resolution or reset.

    1. 'man made' - OK, but as I've mentioned earlier - man is part of God's Creation(the universe).
I believe prayer might help us.

  16. I also believe in God, however our priests say that it is definitely not God being angry at us or punishing us. I also believe He is too merciful and loving to do so. But of course no one can be sure about that and I respect your opinion. I just think we, as humans, for sure did many evil things to the creation, so many sins. I am scared , but I hope we will be stronger and better after this and I hope you stay safe and healthy!

    1. Hi Natalia,

I see God as our superparent. As a parent He's got the right to get angry and punish his naughty children.

Yes, if we survive the corona virus, we'll certainly get stronger and better.
