Liberte, Egalite, Fraternite

The bombings, shootings and killings in Paris,  the City of Light, have shattered many people's belief in humanity, and  in the ideals of the French Revolution.

The french have a lot of thinking to do now. Years  of liberal policies (both on the internal and the external front) and incompetent politicians, have turned France into an easy target for terrorists.

As a journalist has recently put it:" You shouldn't try to understand or explain terrorism. You should just extirpate it". Indeed, a lot of time has been wasted on understanding and explaining - and now it seems things are completely out of control.

There's a sense of urgency in the atmosphere  but so far nothing serious has been done against Daesh, except air strikes, which are not very efficient.

The members of Daesh, Al-Quaeda,and the like, don't seem to think much of life, so I wouldn't be surprised if they try to get hold of nuclear "toys" to make it even easier to destroy  life wherever and whenever they fancy.

Sad, very sad.
May the souls of those innocent victims of the massacre in Paris rest in peace! May God strengthen their families and alleviate their pain!

  1. I continue to pray for peace for all nations, because it is always the innocent that are hurt most. Vx

  2. Hi Vera,

Praying is good. I believe in prayers too, but my prayers are more of a personal nature. I pray for myself and family. I feel too small and insignificant to pray for nations and the world- especially that it seems to me God is not pleased with the world of today; maybe He's even planning a reset.

  3. I don't know what to say anymore... this World isn't safe, people are crazy wherever you look. :(
I do not even dare to try hoping for better times...

  4. Pink Panthress,

You're right. The world is not safe, the future doesn't look promising. Bloody events such as those in Paris leave us helpless and speechless.

  5. OH Duta, I was up most the night watching it. I can only think of them as SNAKES
slithering in the dark and then striking. Now what kind of a nut can see a snake strike a person and does't shoot it? I don't have to think about it. Political
correct, for get that crap. America should stop talking and ACT. Talk is cheap.
I would put a net out and scoop any MUSLEMS up and drop them on a big rock in
the ocean with no boat. Also stop giving them any aid, NOTHING.
Now at least we didn't sneak around wearing hoods, the cowards.
I can say this "I hate them." They are not pigs, that's above them. Slugs. YES!

  6. La Petite Gallery,

Your advice to America is a good one.but she'll probably stick to her anemic air strikes which ,unfortunately, lead nowhere. Perhaps NATO should have initiated some sort of retaliation as Daesh has attacked France, a member of NATO.

  8. Kim &Stuff,

Yes Kim, terrorism doesn't make sense, it makes tragedy. If it's ignored and not dealt with properly, it spreads like cancer. No nation is immune from this plague.

  9. Very sad indeed. I've read a number of articles this week in the aftermath of Paris. The best I can hope for is that humanity does not lose what little humanity it has left. <3

  10. Angelina Pratt,

The Media has been bombarding us with info; it doesn't make things easier for us.
Anyway, if these people are not stopped quickly, they'll destroy the world.

  11. First off, I love your header picture. It is gorgeous. I feel your pain, helplessness and frustration. This world is in a mess, and all I can do is pray. My heart hurts for those who are displaced, for those who lost their lives, and for their families...and all the unknowns which allows fear to creep in to daily living. I am almost at the point of not watching the news.

  12. Linda O'Connell,

I have to agree with you about the picture. Although it's technically not a good one, there's something in it that matches perfectly the mood of the post. As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words. Thanks for the comment.

  13. It seems like the world has a fire drill mentality. Big Ears has treated the public as sheep and as soon as he can build the last part of the fence, he will begin to slaughter those of us who disagree. Yes, I feel our biggest problem is our Leader and we Americans are heading for another Civil War. Lots of Conflicts in the world have been handled with greed and not common sense. Peace

  14. Lady Ti Tn,

'Leader', you say. Unfortunately, there aren't any real leaders in today's world.
Nor is there any leading nation which could serve as a positive example to all the other nations. We're facing chaos and loss of lives. I believe "the arab spring" - initiated and encouraged by the government in your country has a lot to do with the present situation. May God help us!

it is the government of my country which is run by total IDIOTS and the people are stupid enough to keep electing them. However, the last President election was very shady with people voting more than once and other voting areas having more votes than the registered voter. As I said before the government is herding Sheep. Peace

  16. Lady Di Tn,

It's the same here. We also call the voters sheep and the PM a lot of names. But we are not a continent and not a superpower like USA which has to lead the world and serve as an example.

  17. It is sad what has happened. I hope the universe will guide to bring about peace. It is a very complicated situation which needs a lot of wisdom in a world were leaders rule in the name of power and greed.

  18. Marja,

    Welcome to my little blog!
Let's hope indeed that the universe (or what others call God or Supernatural Power) will guide and give the necessary wisdom to rulers to bring about Peace in the world.
